Congratulations. The best thing you can do right now is get used to the surrounding environment so that you’re not using your precious time during law school finding your way to the grocery store, bookstore, etc. Law school is a lot of work, so relax now while you have the chance. About two weeks before classes begin, get your books and downloan your syllabi. You should enter your first day with your assigned reading *done*.

You should read up a little on-line about briefing cases. While this is not a skill that you will use your entire law school career, it’s good to do at the beginning of law school so you’re not missing anything and you’re understanding what you’re reading. I actually learned how to book brief (briefing in the case books with different colored highlighters) and it was something I *did* do during the entirety of law school.

Book you should read: Law School Confidential (I read it and loved it–gives you the low down on how to handle assignments, networking, your parents/friends, finals, extra-cirricular activities, etc during your first year of law school)

Books you should *not* read: The Paper Chase (or see the movie), One L

Relax. But when classes convene, do not be casual. You will get tort, philosophy, document creation. When case law is presented by the instructor, you will also be assigned cases to argue. Get in a study group as soon as you can. What is the school you are going to be attending?

Take this education seriously. A law degree is very marketable. You will discover that the law is whatever you can convince the jurist of how your use and interpretation of the variables presented in the present law are correct, and new law should be created that supports your presentation.

Learn Mneumonics! This is probably the best advice that I got before entering college. This is esp useful for law students considering of all of the memorization needed for all those laws and bylaws!

Prepare by: reading alot to get use to the vast amount of reading material, mentally prepare yourself by looking over your course work and understanding what you need to do to prepare, and leave to live near the campus early so you are use to the city and to talk to enrolled students for tips. Meanwhile, i would use this website http://www.pashalaw.com/ to prepare and get you started.

Good luck with everything.
