How can I fit in, in college?
I drive there, go to class, eat by myself, work out @ the gym, and come home. I find it really hard to meet ppl since I don’t live on campus. I also have a job and a girlfriend so it’s hard to do extracurricular activities and make friends. Any ideas?

A lot of my friends commute and have the same problem since they don’t really socialize with those that live on campus. I guess it’s just a matter of sacrificing some time to spend with people on campus or going to events, talking to more of your classmates, and maybe using Facebook as a resource. On Facebook, add people who go to your college and message them once in a while–hopefully finding someone with shared interests. What about finding a job on campus? Does your school have any commuter-oriented programs/events?

Talk to people before class starts and try to get involved in extracurricular activities that don’t require a ton of involvement.

Have you ever been to the student union? That’s where you can find a lot of people “chilin'” and stuff. Maybe you can go there in between classes and find others to hang out with. Best of luck…
