UIUC uses priority filling, which is basically the same as EA. If you apply by the “priority date” of November 10th, you will get a decision by December 14th and you will also have an advantage over people who don’t apply until the non-priority date of January 2 (they get decisions February 15th). Priority filling is not binding.

I think you have extremely excellent chances no matter when you apply, but it is nice to know if you’re in earlier, in my opinion. Good luck!

(and by the way, in reply to the other poster, IB is in no way less competitive…it can only help you…but I’m sure you know that from all the damn work you’ve had to do ;p)

Modus Operandi
Priority helps because it shows you’re committed or something.

Other than that I thought that UIUC was real big on the ACT.

You sound like you’d have a good shot, but it’s kind of the luck of the draw. If you apply into a very competitive program to enter into, it could be kind of tough. I think IB might be a little less competitive (just my guess, no idea really) so I think you’d be set.

Good luck, UIUC is a lot of fun.
