S.A.T. or A.C.T. for a seventh grade? From the Duke TIP(talent indetification program)?

I scored a 99% on the KSMA(kansas state math assesment) in sixth grade. Since My state is one of the 16 in the Duke University Region, i was chosen to take a S.A.T. or A.C.T. I am just curious, but which one shoud I take? I don’t want to take the easiest, but one that will challenge me but not too hard for a seventh grader. Thanks!

SAT= math, reading, writing

ACT= math, reading, english, science

The SAT is generally considered to be a bit harder. Some people who don’t do too well on the SAT will do well on the ACT and vice versa.

sorry, neither of these will “challenge me but not too hard for a seventh grader” (actually that kind of an oxymoron don’t you think?). these test and very challenging for HIGH SCHOOLERS, but you sound like you’re a genius anyway, do just relax and do you best. i hope this information helps!

Oh, I remember that program! The camp was expensive but a LOT of fun, if you can get in.

I think the main difference between the ACT and SAT is that the ACT also has a science section. I’m really not sure about this, though, as I’ve never taken the ACT. There’s also the claim that the ACT is content based, whereas the SAT is reasoning/critical thinking based – in this sense, you’d be a LOT better off w/ the SATs, because in 7th grade, you might not have learned some of the stuff you need to know on the ACTs, but you’re probably no worse at reasoning than the average high schooler.

I don’t remember the SAT being that hard at all – you’ll need to learn some new concepts before, since the math section covers up to Alg. 2, and some of the vocab is hard, but other than that, you should have no problem at all.

Last year, I also had the same opportunity to take the SAT’s or the ACT’s. I would recommend the SAT’s. Although it was hard, it gave me an idea of how it would be when I was actually taking it. The SAT’s test on a variety of subjects, such as math, reading, and writing. The ACT’s test on a certain subject. For example, a certain part in time or part of history. Unless you know a lot about the subject of the ACT, it wouldn’t be wise to take it. Take the SAT’s, you’ll get a great learning experience out of it.
