When you read a sentence think of it like this…………Who is the main character or place or subject( noun). Then, think what is the subject doing what action are they performing (verb) then think, what words are describing the verb, tastes, smells, colors, etc. (adjective). Example: The boy ran very quickly across the street. Boy is the main subject (noun) what did the boy do? He ran (verb) How did he run? quickly (adjective)……………………………….

A verb is a ‘doing’ word – run, sing, jump, work.
A noun is a ‘thing’ – house, car, book, tree.
An adjective is a ‘describing’ word – large, happy, green, heavy.
