It asks you to explain how the author lays out the story. How does this author present the sequence of events in such a way that it’s a good story. If you just give the sequence of the story, that’s not bad, but I bet you’d get extra credit if you can explain why the way the author told it was good. Did the author hide something to add suspense? Were you asked to understand someone’s character to predict what would happen? Were you made to think about your own life by the way the character was presented? “Unfold” is what you do with the wrapping around a package, where you start to see more and more about what’s inside. So I think the teacher is trying to get you to describe the story in that way. How did the author make you feel like you were unwrapping an interesting package. (This is pretty easy if you liked the story, and hard if you didn’t.) Good luck!
