Will majoring in Movement Sciences not prepare me enough for the MCATS?

My over all goal is to go to med school. However, I don’t want to major in bio or chem or anything of that nature. I want to major in movement sciences (kineseology) because my second choice, if not med school, is then physical therapy. I’ve done my research and i found that the pre physical therapy and pre med reqs are very similar so i wont have to waste too much time.

However, will i not be as prepared for the MCATS rather then someone who had biology or chemistry for their major? How do people major in other subjects yet do well on the MCATS? Is everything that i need to know about the MCATS included in my pre med reqs?!

THANKS!

You will probably need to go above and beyond the normal PT prerequsites. The pre-PT courses only require “regular” chem, and maybe one in organic. You will need to complete advanced chem and bio courses to boost your application to med school. So as long as you do that, you can major in movement sciences…it just might take you longer to do so…
