. My daughter did that and it turns out she’s dyslexic. I would have child checked out. It also means you have a very bright child.

It depends on the words. If it were three- and four-letter words, I’d say s/he might be interested in english. If s/he could spell at a middle school and high school level and do it forward and backward without much trouble, then I’d say you have a savant on your hands.

you can call me e
just one word or a bunch? my sister used to do that when she was about that age. she would do it with the words “food lion” and “halloween”. i don’t think she qualified as a genius, she just happened to see those words a lot and quickly memorized them. but i mean, i guess the kid could be a genius, like if he saw the word once and could instantly spell it front and back.

They could be really good at spelling. Depends on what type of words. If its dog or cat, easy stuff. Maybe you should get them tested, or do it when they’re a little older. Make sure you get them in a good school system so they keep up the good work :]

Depends on the word. If he/she can spell “toot” or “dog” or “bat” backwards it’s not a big deal. If he/she can spell government, or atrocious forward and backwards – that’s something.

my c
nothing.

the child actually pays attention.

one of my children could read when he was 2 years old and he taught himself to read everything from newspapers to the encyclopedia.

one child started talking one word sentences when he was 4 months old.

i have other great children.

so i say nothing is happening.

i think the child is interested in words or learning and can develop other skills.

No, kids soak up info like a sponge. So get him / her to learn a few more words while he / she is keen and in the mood

Your child has a very gifted mind, encourage it and nourish it.
