Chances of getting into Boston College?

What do you think my odds are?

3.9 weighted GPA (3.71 unweighted)

1320 SAT

45 out of 473 students (barely top 10%)

7 AP Classes

Varsity Wrestling and Soccer (Captain of both)

Student Body President

Georgia Boys State

Also, should I apply early action or wait until regular admission? If I get deferred from early action do I have the same shot of getting in as someone who just applies regular decision?

If this is your number one I would apply early. If you do get deferred early you don’t lose any standing for regular decision. It sounds like you have a strong transcript, just make sure you get some good recomendations and have a very strong essay. The essay is very important.

You chances are excellent, presuming that that SAT score is for math and reading, and not including writing. If you get deferred from early action, they normally treat you the same as a non-early applicant. Go for the early action if it’s definitely your first choice.

Your stats are almost identical to mine, even boys’ state. I think you have a good shot. I’m applying ED to cornell, if you know that’s where you want to go, apply ED.

your stats is still low.. hate to say. raise your SAT up so it redeems the low gpa for BC. unless BC is your top/first choice do ED but if it isnt dont do ED because its not worth going to a school that you dont even want to go in. you will be with the regular decision pool if you get deferred but you have a better chance compared to someone who has the same stats as you since you applied ED and they see that you have interest into the school.
