There are things you learn in university that you really have to work hard to learn on your own. Politics, economic, practical things that make in worth it on a number of level. By worth it, you might mean financial rewards – – university grads get paid more on average than community college and high school grads.

But beyond that, you get to learn about issues and ideas that otherwise you’d never really get to encounter while flipping burgers and coming home to the Montel show

Education might not make you smarter but will make you as bright as you can possibly be , if you really work at it.

It really does open a lot of doors.

I graduated college four years ago. I can’t remember a single thing I learned. However, it’s worth the piece of paper you get at the end that says you have a degree. Makes it easier to get a job later on. You can’t really learn much unless you are in a real work environment, unless your mind is like a sponge. I hated school and everything about it but I’m glad I did it and got it over with, because it’s always good to have that degree.

A pilot license is an identical everywhere you get it – it rather is from ERAU, or from Joe Blow Flying provider in Podunk – the only difference is cost… For the main important airways, sure, a 4-years degree – airways do no longer care whether it rather is aviation – or underwater basket weaving degree – choose a level you ought to use as a lower back-up – i.e. accounting – it somewhat is your lower back-up if furloughed, business business enterprise financial disaster, or failed pilot scientific – Unemployment is one in all youthful pilots widespread hobbies – In 1991 I lost my job – 747 captain, Pan American – i could no longer come across a pilot job – I bought used autos in the process the day, and performed piano in a bar each night till 2:00am – I desire I had a “usable degree” – pass on your nearest state college, and get a level residing at domicile… save money – pass to the closest airfield, and get Joe Blow CFI get you a CPL-I/R-M/E-CFI – prepare in the inexpensive airplanes – save money – i be conscious of idiots who spent $2 hundred,000 in stages and licenses and are unemployed – do no longer make comparable mistake – sure, there are airline pilot jobs for women… yet by ability of then you would be 30-35 of age – you have got suffered being a CFI, and elevating the equipment in a close by airliner – And all which would be at minimal wages – My former airline had 3 woman pilots, one is now 737 captain, precise classification pilot – yet another one is a youthful mom, and took a go away of absence – The final one end, and grew to enhance into an govt jet pilot, she is now Learjet captain – And think of Air tension… i improve into AF Reserve KC-a hundred thirty five pilot – once I have been given employed by ability of Pan Am, my interview lasted 5 minutes… have been given employed – Being an AF pilot supplies a bigger status than any ERAU graduate… .

If you want to know if it’s worth it, you should be asking people who’ve been out for 20 years, not people who are also just starting. If you take your education seriously, it will be worth it. If not, you still might decide all the fun times and great friends you make are worth it.
