why does it seem as if alof of people put DeVry down?

for one, it’s not a trade school, it’s a university. it WAS a trade school a long time ago (1980) second, it’s accredited by the Higher Learning Commission of the North Central Association.

It might be that the fact that, even though it was a trade school long ago, people still perceive it as such. It might also be that their relatively easy admissions policies cause some to perceive it as less prestigious. That said, you are correct that DeVry University is a regionally accredited institution.

One of the reasons is that credits don’t transfer! So if you would like to transfer you’re stuck and have to continue there! Besides there are employers that prefer students who graduate fron not-for-profit colleges. Devry University is for-profit model and it has some affect on opinions about credibility.
