Question about ELC program at UC! Need help ASAP!?
I know that the UC schools only take the top 4% of your graduating class and give them the opportunity to join the ELC program and I am also aware that they decide this based on your class ranking at the end of junior year. However, I was wondering if once you are informed of being eligible at the BEGINNING of your senior year and you happen to drop out of the top 4% but stay in the top 12.5% by the end of your senior year if you will no longer be eligible to attend a UC school through the ELC program. And yes, I already checked out the UC website about it but I’m still a little unclear on this aspect.

The ELC program is only calculated on the basis of your sophomore and junior year grades (including grades over the summer of those years). You are still in the ELC program if you drop down to any percentage, as long as you maintain a 3.0 GPA during your 2 semesters in senior year.
Also, it says in my letter, “you also will need to complete all coursework requirements for freshmen admission by the end of your senior year.” That’s just saying dont fail any classes. You must pass with a C or better.
Basically, just maintain a 3.0 GPA (with no D’s and F’s) , take 2 SAT II subject tests, and the SAT I reasoning test (or ACT), and you will be guaranteed admission to a UC school, although not your first choice.

I would recommend contacting the admissions office at one of the UC schools. This is probably a question they have heard before and they should be able to give you a good, definite, answer.
