It bothers me that so many people think that biology is a degree and that there is only simple math involved?

People get the wrong idea and assume that it’s just a bunch of “easy introductory” classes when in fact, they require you take Statistics, Chemistry, Physics and in my school Molecular Chemistry.. It is an extremely hard course load, and any one who thinks it’s so easy should go attempt it themselves!
If you’re majoring in Bio, good luck hun you’ll need it lol. I’m going to need an extra year just to get all the classes/curriculum I need to get this degree. Don’t let anyone tell you otherwise, it’s going to be a great accomplishment once you get it. And! You can do a multitude of things with a degree in Bio, not just a science teacher.
For instance I’m going to be a nurse and I need to major in either Biology or Allied Health/Health Promotion, and a lot of students who are going to graduate school can major in Biology as well, giving them a well-rounded education basis for them to build on. Good luck! =)
Oh, and *NEWS FLASH* to the guy above me, in ORDER TO GET A BIOLOGY DEGREE YOU HAVE TO TAKE PHYSICS, STATISTICS AND CHEMISTRY, MEANING THERE IS A SUFFICIENT AMOUNT OF DIFFICULT MATH IN IT. DAMN!
Stop trying to put other people’s dreams and determination down!
Anyways, don’t pay any attention to them. The biological sciences are moving faster and are more exciting than they’ve ever been. Physics is mostly solved – the exciting topics in physics these days are in astrophysics and at the interface with biology. The exciting topics in chemistry – again, at the interface with biology. Biologists have no problems getting jobs. If you enjoy what you do and it’s practical, you shouldn’t care if a few people who don’t know what they’re talking about look down on you.
