University would be a worthless degree course if they let anyone with minimal education enter in as a Junior student… the standards are already so low it’s ridiculous… I can only imagine how bringing people who, for whatever reason, can’t do the college work, into a degree course and make the other students have to tolerate them.
What happens if everyone in a class is not at the same level is, the ones who don’t have a CLUE about the subject matter because they didn’t study it in a lower grade.. is that it brings the entire class down because the teacher has to spend a disproportionate amount of time with the substandard student.
If you REALLY want to go to university then you will stop finding excuses about your failure and start figuring out how to do the work they require of you.
– There is something about your application that is wrong. Are you having others proofread your applications? Have you seen the transfer counsellor at your current school? Do you have strong recommendations?
– If your application is, at the core, in decent shape, then I suspect that you are applying to the wrong universities. You’re applying to universities that are too competitive re: SATs or GPA or other factors. They aren’t a good fit for you.
You need to start over, fresh. Look at yourself, and try to figure out what sorts of universities are a good fit for you, for your grades, your scores, and everything else about you. Then apply specifically to those universities.
For example, maybe UMass Amherst rejected you. Maybe you can’t get in there. But maybe you could get in to UMass Boston or UMass Lowell. Would one of those schools, which have less competitive admissions, be a better fit for you? If those are still too stringent, look at Framingham State College, etc.
Another example. Fordham rejected you. Might Seton Hall, or Mercy College, or St. Peter’s, be a better fit? They are also Catholic, and in the NY area, but they have less competitive admissions.
These are just for examples, but they may give you a feel for the type of analysis I’m talking about. I strongly believe that you will be able to get into a college that you will like and do well at. But you need to look at what schools you’ve applied to so far, see if maybe they were too far a reach re: scores and etc., and find schools that you like just as well, but that are a better fit in terms of admissions standards.
In your own area, look at the smaller state schools, and the smaller private schools. In some cases, those can be a bit easier to get into than the flagship schools, or those that are nationally known. And yet they provide strong educations.
And you may have luck applying to schools that are outside your region, but that are good fits re: grades and etc. Sometimes, in the quest for diversity, a small school in Nebraska will find the fact that you are from, say, Massachusetts a plus, as they don’t normally get a lot of applicants from there.
If you can tell me exactly where you are looking to go to school, and give me an example of a couple of schools that have rejected you but that you liked, I may be able to give you a list of schools that may fit.
If not, have you tried applying to take classes at a University that you are interested in attending on-line/distant learning?
The requirements are a little less strict, and then once in, you can see if you can switch to on campus classes.
I hope this helps… Good luck.
Have you talked to your counselors at your community college? Also, is your spelling/typing here similar to what you put on your application? If so, well, you may have your answer. You also don’t state your major, that may be something to consider. And, are you willing to move temporarily?
Another thing to consider is attending an online program.
