GENETICS & Blood transfusion?
Now suppose a person has been in the recipient end of a blood transfusion process.
My question: Does that mean that this person receives a DIFFERENT GENETIC make-up from the donor of those blood cells? Does that mean it changes the recipient’s personality?
Only expert answers please….and puh-leez forgive my ignorance for I have no background in biology. 🙂
Thank you.

And EVEN if the DNA stayed in your system, DNA acts to influence your personality and characteristics as you are being formed in the fetus and early childhood (via protein levels), and the presence of other DNA within your system wouldn’t alter these effects. Your characteristics are only altered if foreign DNA is incorporated into your own DNA, and this generally only occurs in very small quantities, eg for a specific gene (ie code for one protein). Your personality and characteristics such as hair colour are usually influenced by the action of many, many genes and the interactions between them, so a change of some DNA within a single gene is unlikely to have a significant effect.
