How long will i be in college?

I want to go to Spelman and get my bachelor’s in journalism (it’s a minor, but i can make it a major) and further my studies in Spanish and French. I also want to study psychology there as well because i always found it fascinating and wanted to take a psychology class. Then, I want to go to New York University, get my master’s in magazine writing and my certificates in public relations and publishing (certificates take no time at all). My grandmother said that the 4 classes at Spelman would be enough and the 3 at NYU would be enough as well. I’m thinking that I’d be out of college around 23 or 24. I’m a sophmore (I’m 15 now) in high school, and i don’t live near neither one of these schools. I plan on taking a trip to both colleges though during junior year. Also, if it helps, I’m in IB and will get 28 college credits before I even start college.

Wow, you are young and you know what you are doing. Very Impressive and congratulations on all of the credits that you are going to have before you start college. It seems like you’ll skip a grade once you enter college without stepping foot on that university.

You can finish college within 4 years. However, from the look of things, you may have to prolong it to 6 years due to all of your interest. Anyways, anything can be done so good luck!

it will take longer than that.. even with all those classes. an MA takes approx 1-2 years and you will probably need more than just the reg credits you will receive in a BA in journalism..

spanish and french? French is really useless unless you plan on doing research.. Try Chinese instead.

Right, you will be 24 to 25 to finish all the degree.

Journalism, 4 yrs; psycho, 2 yrs, spanish 2 yrs and french 2 yrs. Because your first course because of the requisites of general AB allows you to take other courses 2 yrs each.

sounds like however long you’re in there… you’re going to get all the degrees and certificates you need to be successful. Good Luck, and great planning ahead!

It sounds about right. Maybe sooner if you do summer school or take a larger load once you learn what college is about.
