Which teachers are nicer race wise in general? White teachers, hispanic teacher or Black teachers?

And it does matter to me, I feel that there might be a corralation between diffrent upbringings that make the teachers more sensative to the needs of the students. Also lets put in in a elementary school setting. What teachers are most likely to take on a motherly approach to teaching and which one will just look at it like a job and get angry all the time and teach without love?

I think people forget that race and culture are very closely related. For example, being black does not just mean you were born with a dark complexion. There is a rich and beautiful culture that comes with being black. I think that’s what you’re trying to ask, and I don’t think it’s wrong of you to be curious about it. People who are angry with you asking are simply misunderstanding what you’re getting at.

With that said, I can’t actually say one way or another based on my own experiences because I haven’t had many black or Hispanic teachers. Now that I think about it, I think I’ve only had one black teacher, and that was in college. The only teachers I’ve had who are Hispanic were Spanish teachers. As a whole, their cultural upbringing DID affect their teaching methods, and I thoroughly enjoyed their perspective. They taught with love and lots of common sense. I don’t think it fair to say anything about my black professor since she’s the only one I’ve had. As for my white teachers, there’s too big a variety of personalities and teaching methods to pinpoint anything.

So, even though I think you posed a great question, I personally couldn’t draw any sort of real conclusions from my own experiences.

From my experience the nicest teachers belong to the Human Race. It’s a recognized group that’s found on every continent, represented by a rainbow of hues and a personality types. Though they may be not easily recognized as such on Mondays, by the weekend, they’re usually Human again. Research has revealed a correlation between the ingestation of coffee and “being Human” most mornings.

Often, younger Humans will find offense when confronted by the consequences of their words. Though they may belong to this “Human” race, they seem to enjoy aggravating their peers. Poking, prodding, and aggravating get confused with intellectual discussion.

One of their most used techniques is to brand those who disagree as ignorant or immature. It’s interesting how they ask about what “makes teachers more sensative (sic) to the needs of students”, when they personally demonstrate a high level of insensitivity to mature responses. To those students, I can only hope they find the humanity in themselves, someday.

As far as the “motherly” approach, those are usually the female members of the species, though those qualities should cross all gender boundaries.

Just a thought: Can we all just get along?

I’ve had all different races for teachers.

I don’t think that race has anything to do with how a person teaches.

I think it has to do with their passion for wanting students to learn and being able to help their students learn and how good they feel when they know that they made a difference in their students lives.

Yes there are many teachers who definitely should not be teaching but that’s because of their lack of love for teaching, their horrible attitudes, their dislike for students, and the fact that they just don’t care among many other personal reasons.

To me race shouldn’t be a factor in who’s a better teacher but who really loves to teach.

Ok, I have to say something to this, because it is absolutely ignorant to ask which race of teacher is “nicer”, and I cannot believe you would have the audacity to even ask such a thing….

You need to really think about what you are asking….if a teacher cares about her students grasping knowledge, shows a passion for teaching, abides by federal guidelines, then who cares about the color of their skin. The motherly or “fatherly” figures(because their are male teachers as well) that you are refering to, makes no sense, because parents should be providing that. Sweetie, all teachers no matter what color, should render the same respect and guidance for our children and if you care about color so much, then that speaks about what kind of individual and citizen you are. Get a clue.

I agree, to even ask this question opens up a plethora of racist sentiments. I am guessing by the name, you are Hispanic. How would you feel if someone got the idea from your question that “All Hispanics are Racsit”??? Of course that would be a silly conclusion to come to!

How about the nice teachers are nice, and the not-so-nice ones, aren’t?

People should, after all, only be judged by their actions, not by the color of their skin or where they came from, or whether they put the toilet seat up or down…

People are individuals. If you try to look for easy answers and pidgeon-hole everyone into neat categories, you are going to serioulsy complicate your life — not to mention, miss out on the joy of getting to know people who don’t conform to your stereotypes!

I cannot believe you would ask such a racist question. A teacher’s race does not make him/her indifferent to students. A student’s pathetic attitude might do it, though. All of us try very hard to help our students learn what we have to teach.

All that you name are good teachers. Being a good teacher has nothing to with ethnicity, religious affiliation or gender orientation. It has to do with being passionate about your job and caring about the students in your class.

I teach with white, black, Hispanic, Arabic and Asian teachers. Every single one of them is devoted to his/her job and students. I don’t see the colour of their skin or their ethnic background. I see a teacher.

You know it really depends on the community. To make a flat out statement that one race is better than the other is a little ignorant. You have a good premise, but your answer will vary from community to community.

Check spelling next time. Don’t want to answer, except…..IF YOU don’t like the teachers, school, etc., please look into homeschool. No one can teach your children better than you can. I KNOW. I’m a big chicken but I took the leap. Week and a half into it I am. I was Soooo Scared, but I found a group who would help me do it front to back. Moore Foundation(.com).

Pricey, yes, but if you look into it enough, you can find a way to be cheap…. This not you answer, that’s cool. let me ask you, did you pray for God’s help yet? If not, do it. HE wants to help YOU!! My son and I prayed for his class..unruly lot.. waiting to see outcome.
