I am a new teacher and am being observed for the first time tomorrow. I am doing a reading lesson and teaching about the 5 W’s (who what where when why) and How in fiction stories. Does anyone have any interactive ideas to incorporate into this lesson?? HELP!

Have students act as reporters. Have them “interview” a classmate and ask them to tell about an event that has happened to them. Make a worksheet ahead of time that asks the 5 W’s to give them guidance as they interview. Leave blanks on the sheet for them to fill in the info. When the interview is complete ask them to switch places and become the person being interviewed. Another option is to bring in newspapers and ask them to cut out articles. Have them find and highlight the 5 W’s and share the articles with the class.
