I have an interview for a teaching position and would like advice on when to schedule the interview.?

Would it be best to be one of the first to be interviewed or wait and be one of the last?

Personally I don’t believe it matters as long as you know your stuff and come across in a sincere manner. If you are the best candidate then you will be hired. Be sure you are clean, dress well, be prepared to ask questions, if you don’t know the answer don’t be afraid to ask for clarification, bring good references, be honest, do some research on the district you are going to interview in, and again, be sincere or they will see right through you. Good Luck —

I frequently sit in on interviews for staff positions at our school. Truthfully, if you are the best candidate for the job, the interview time will not matter. Be sure you know your ‘stuff’…how you would handle situations, extra things you are willing to do, standard course of study for your grade/subject, know about the school, have questions ready to ask the interviewer, take a portfolio if appropriate, have great references, make a positive impression by your appearance and attitude…good luck

Yeah I agree, it doesn’t really matter in what order you go in if they like you.

That is tricky. I would say 1st. Dazzle them and they will not want anyone else.

Uh.. don’t they normally tell you when to show up… and then you just show up?
