Where in the United States are teachers needed most?

What about in the future outlook? Maybe around the year 2012? That’s when I’ll hopefully be graduating from college if all goes as planned…

Texas!! Some districts have so many jobs available that they don’t even post them. They simply take applications all the time and try to match people to jobs. Also, this is good for future outlooking because the population is increasing so rapidly (and is expected to continue). However, I might suggest that you pick up some Spanish. Bilingual and ESL jobs are widely available, and that’s only going to continue.

There are jobs in pretty much every urban area for teachers. Also a lot of my friends have gotten teaching jobs in North Carolina, South Carolina, Georgia, Alabama, Mississippi and Florida.

I agree with Shannon. I am a former Ohioan who came to South Carolina to teach. You can always find a job there.

If you teach math, science, or special Ed, you can find a job anywhere. If you’re bilingual (Spanish) you can get any job in Texas you want.

I’ve been told they are in the highest demand in Mississippi, Arkansas, Alabama and Florida. I don’t know if it’s true but that’s what I’ve heard.

My school has 12 openings (well it did when I left for the summer, The principal had better have done his hiring!)
