It’s the only method I’ve ever used for long multiplication. Takes no time at all to get the hang of, and so long as you’re careful and don’t make stupid mistakes it’s 100% every time.

However, I really recommend that you also get away from the computer for part of your practice. You can discover the times tables yourself by creating a “count by” list. Lets say you start with 10’s (They are easiest.) You simply write the numbers counting by 10—— 10, 20, 30, 40, and so on.

Do this many times until you don’t even have to think about it anymore.

Also, make your own flashcards with the problem on one side and the answer on the back. Practice by yourself or with a friend.
