IQ stands for “intelligence quotient”. Average score is about 95-110. I guess “bad” would be anywhere from 70 (that would be mentally retarded) to 80. “Genius” level is about 145 and up, but 130-145 is also very excellent.

You can’t really trust online IQ quizzes, because it is the Internet, they aren’t real, and they aren’t tailored to your age group. It’s really best to get tested by a psychologist, but that can get pretty expensive (I’ve only been IQ tested for a magnet program in my school district). However, SparkNotes.com (link below), if you sign up, is one I’ve found to be reasonably accurate. You could Google “free IQ tests” as well.

But remember that IQ doesn’t represent how successful you’ll be or anything like that. IQ only tests some areas of intelligence, and you might not even be good at test-taking anyways. You shouldn’t worry too much about it, unless you’re trying to get into some gifted school.

There are indications that IQ is falling out of favor among human intelligence researchers[citation needed]. Daniel Schacter, Daniel Gilbert, and others have moved beyond general intelligence and IQ as the sole means to describe intelligence.[12

An average IQ is said to be 100. So below 100 is below average and above 100 is above average. Below 70 is intellectually challenged. Superior IQ is around 140 and genius is from 160-180. This isn’t set in stone; people have different abilities and this is only an average. For example, you may be superior in math and not so superior in English. So you may come out as average. Don’t worry about numbers; concentrate on your positive aspects and don’t compare yourself to others.

I.Q. stands for “information quotient”. Its a test that measures your intelligence, not buy common trivia questions or history, but by puzzles and problem solving along with some math. Go take a free one online and it will tell you your scoe and show you a chart.

I’ve scored in the 120 something to 140 something range before and I don’t consider myself to be a brainiac.
