Which states other than Colorado license CPAs to practice as a CPA without experience as an accountant?

I do not mean simply allowing one to sit for the CPA exam, I mean licensing a person to advertise themself and practice as a CPA, e.g., auditing company financial statements.

I don’t think that there are any states that do not have an experience requirements (including Colorado). I have attached a link to the Colorado requirements below.

The following is a quote from the AICPA site:

“Most states/jurisdictions require at least two years public accounting experience. Many states/jurisdictions also accept non-public accounting experience (e.g., industry, government), although the number of years deemed acceptable are typically higher than for public accounting. In addition, some states/jurisdictions have a one-tier system, whereby candidates must pass the CPA exam and fulfill the experience requirements to obtain both the certificate and license. Others have a two-tier system in which you can obtain the certificate upon passing the exam, then must fulfill the experience requirements to obtain the license to practice in public accounting. Because so many factors determine whether a state/jurisdiction is considered one- or two-tier, it is recommended that you contact your state board for interpretation.”

The second link is one where you can look up the requirements to obtain a license in all 54 jurisdictions.

I hope this helps.

and not making use of a valid license in CA, you will possibly no longer carry your self out to be a CPA, nor would you carry out those centers reserved to CPAs. usually, this means auditing, or representing a customer in tax artwork. What you’re able to do is artwork for a CPA employer decrease than the process a CPA. surely, i’ve got faith it truly is the only thank you to fulfill the journey requirement in CA regulation to actual improve right into a CPA.
