Drama, Changes, Growing-up

or not….

Never put others down or allow others to put you down…

Remeber to always Hold on to who you are while allowing youre self to explore and grow…

you will change and so will the people around you because thats what life is

The friends you have now may have a problem with that…

just be senstive to it because they haven’t learned to step out of there comforts zone…

you will learn who are and who your ture friends are only if you are true and honest with your self…

always be there for everyone and remeber who is always there for you…

avoid stupid things not worth your time like drugs sex and alchol because it gives you nothing NOTHING but trouble

and if everyone seems to be into it and thinks its cool remeber their idiots

look at it as in five years youll be startin college and they will be in rehab or broke..I know from experience and I also have a kid somethin that will most likely happen if you have sex

and always keep up with your grades I don’t care who you are you can always get an A if you try your best

become best friends with the counseler and your teachers they are only there to help…

and have good clean fun! You want to be able to look in a mirror after you graduate and say I am me i didnt give into peerpresure and I am a better person because of that and me graduating today proves that I have grown and I love and accept myself and I am now a Man/Woman

Enjoy it while it last because it WILL end and then real life comes which can sometimes be less than desierable

also learn from everything and everyone…its all a learning experience. And remeber as people we all have 1 similarity: Humanity and 1 capability: Love…we are all equal man woman black white latin asian gay straight transgender we are all people and have no choice but to live together so you might as well learn from everyone and enjoy them for who they are cause you never know who can help you in the future… which painfully reminds me Never NEVER burn bridges

and MOST IMPORTANTLY your parents/ gaurdians are and should be your best and closest friends respect them cause they are the only one(s) who undoutalbly want the best for you and unconditionaly love you!

You realize that it is the last 4 years of school, and the academic pressure is turned up a little bit. Even starting at freshman year, you have to be on top of your work, because your transcripts will matter to colleges. It is not all that bad, I would disregard any horror stories you have heard. It is difficult sometimes, but there is no as much cattiness in high school like there was in middle school. I would say the hardest years are 9 and 11, because you are adjusting to a new school when you are a freshman, and there is some upperclassmen pressure, but no enough to make it unbearable. 11 is hard because a lot of colleges look at that year and you take a lot of standerized tests that year. I would tell you to expect some more homework, spend a little more time on the books, but it won’t suck your life away. A bonus is the chance to mingle with other students in different grades, you do not have to stay on one level of academics. I liked being a freshman and being able to take an elective that had juniors and seniors in it. But that was a personal preference. All in all, high school is not that bad, and it is over with relatively soon, so good luck and have fun!

I think it’s hard to say what high school will be like. High schools are all different. Some high schools can be full of competitive kids who are trying to get into the best colleges. Other high schools can be full of the cliches and social groups.

I loved my own high school experience. My school really wasn’t stereotypical, and I had a good group of friends whom I’m still friends with. I can say that I developed mentally, especially emotionally, during high school.

No matter what high school is like, I think it’s best to develop bonds with people, and try to understand more of who you are. You should have fun, but learn a lot.

Good luck!

High school is different for everybody so I’ll tell you what it was like for me. First, my high school was a lot bigger than my middle school so it was hard at first to just find my way around but you learn where things are over time. There are a lot more people and more cliques so the pressure to conform is more than ever. Sounds dumb but we didn’t have to tuck in our shirts any more so that was really cool. And then there’s the freedom to choose your educational path so don’t be lazy, take classes that will challange and benefit you and be enjoyable, and enjoy the extra freedom!

High school grades are important. So don’t slack off. Here’s what one really good university looks for when a senior in high school applies to their college for admission:

When I called Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore to ask about admitting a student to their university, they said they “look” at the 9th grade scores, but they don’t calculate those scores when they figure out your GPA. They look at your grades in only CORE ACADEMIC CLASSES (sciences, English, social studies, math, maybe foreign language, I’m not sure) for grades 10 and 11 and half of 12th grade when they decide who to admit. They add up all the grades for the core classes, take the average and that is your GPA that they work with. 90-100 is an A, 80-90 is a B, etc.

Want to know what else they said?

Only 21% of the applicants are accepted.

They look to see if you took the hardest courses offered at your school.

Did you have leadership roles in all of your after school activities?

75% of the kids admitted to JHU have a GPA between 3.7 and 3.8

They like to see volunteer work and good letters of recommendation from your teachers, but the high school transcript is the most important thing. If that doesn’t look good, nothing else matters. They don’t want to hear about potential, they want to see what you have done.

Typical ACT score of those students who are admitted: 30-34 composite (top score is 36)

Typical SAT score of admitted students: 1350-1500 in the old SAT (top score was 1600 then)(800 in math and 800 in English is top score on old SAT)

The lady in Admissions said that they don’t really care much if you made National Merit semi-finalist. They care about how hard your classes are and what grades you got in them.

The most stressful four years of your life. Colleges look back all the way to freshman year for consistant grades. So not only are you worrying about your future about five years from now they only way you can relax is by hanging out with your friends. But in order to be accepted by some colleges you need extra curricular activites that will look good such as being vice president of your class. So good luck I was so happy when I finally graduated and was done with it.

High school is where you start staging for the rest of your life.

Because everything you do in high school will affect you later.

If you choose to hang out with bad groups, who doesn’t care about school, you mostly be the same and vice versa. Just do your best, because you can only go through high school once, don’t regret it, i did.

drama.dating.break-ups.drama.cliques.cafeteria.fitting in.drama.tests.drama.

when you get out of high school, you realize that the cliques grow up and everyone can then be friends. Dating in high school to me is a preparation on learning the right kind of person to date. Yes, it is all about drama, spreading rumors, and surviving it. I strongly recommend starting good study habits because when you get to college, you will wish sooo bad that you had them…i did and I never studied in high school and it hit me in the butt my first year in college!

Senior severe college is the perfect comparable situation as severe college, basically a distinctive call. Like in my city we’ve Austin Senior severe (severe college) and Austin junior severe (middle college).
