well, just be honest with what you wanted to say…

you can include your positive traits in the beginning of your talk. then proceed to discuss its relation to the over-all objective of your party…

finally, tell your audience why they should prefer you to be the council’s secretary instead of the other candidates…

be brief with what you wanted to say…
