What clubs/activities look good for college?

I’m going to be a junior this year and so far, I haven’t done many or any clubs so far. I did this kind of debate club thing, but the teacher in charge of it quit due to like a budget strike, so we only had like 5 meetings.

Then I joined some cultural diversity club, but the students in charge only had like 3 meetings, and then it vanished.

The only outside of school thing I do is volunteer work at my local hospital, working 3 hours a week, in the lobby coffee shop, restocking supplies.

I don’t really know what other clubs to do to show off to colleges. I know I seem so “vanilla”, since I can’t think of any interests. I’m honestly exhausted after school every day being in all honors, then having a huge work load afterwards. I work hard to get my GPA to be a 96+, and I don’t want to do any clubs, in which I would come home later, fall asleep, wake up later, do homework for hours on end, and get about 4 hours of sleep, rinse and repeat, etc.

Colleges look for well rounded students, they don’t want people who join clubs just to join or just to be with their friends. If you are taking honors classes that is a good start. If there are an elementary or middle/junior high school near by. Talk to the principal about maybe coming in after school to help some of the children that maybe need help with their reading or math skills. Your school might already have a program set up. Hope this helps and Good Luck

There are no specific clubs that look better on a college application. The key is not to have 50 that your in but to choose a couple and devote your time to them and enjoy them. Colleges can see through people who are just joining clubs so there applications look better

well, while i have an obvious lack of experience in this category (i am a junior in high school), i have heard from many of my teachers that any organization that is actually active is the way to go. i myself am in band, quiz bowl, and i am thinking about joining beta club. i have also heard that any clubs like young democrats/republicans, leaf club, key club, interact, chess, fbla, and things of that nature are beneficial, but they do not fit me.
