It does improve one’s vocab, but it also gives you a wider knowledge of the world. My sister was never a reader, and sometimes, she will say, “How do you know that?” Well, I was a voracious reader when I was young and I picked up a lot of things that way. It seems like there is a correlation between reading and one’s intelligence. I don’t know why, but it seems that school children that read a lot, outscore the children that have absolutely no interest in reading.

Read one of the crucial classics/canonized works. Shakespeare for one has such a lot stuff that it teaches you the whole thing. Think external the field, the extra you learn more often than not the extra you can be taught. Ask your prof for a unique studying record. Your prof will likely be joyful you are interested.
