There will be many people going to this school for the first time and will have the same problems. Schools used to assign the Juniors and Senors to help out the Freshmen in ther first week but I think this is a dead or dying trend.

My suggestion to oyu would be, sometime this week before school starts, go to the school. The schools are usually open with staff on hand in the week or two before school starts. Call ahead of time and tell them you would like to come before school actually starts and get familiar with where your classes and where your locker is.

If you are unable to do this for some reason, don’t sweat it. Teachers are pretty patient with new students the first week as they learn their way around and figure out where things are. Don’t be afraids to ask teachers or other students which way a class is and where to find what you need.

I know you feel pretty nervous about it now but once you get there it wont be quite as stressful as you think.

I am sure you will do just fine!

Have a great schol year !

Before school starts ask a parent or an older sibling to take you to the school. Then check in at the office and see if they have a map available, my school hands them out to freshman with their schedules. If they don’t have a map you can either ask one of them to show you where your home room and locker is, I’m sure they’d help, or you could always take a walk around until you find the locker and home room.

If you can’t visit the school then on the first day if you get lost ask someone in the hall, it could be a faculty member or another student, either way I’m sure they’ll help you out. Just remember you will not be the only person lost, the whole freshman class is feeling the exact same way

Don’t worry, everyone is nervous on their first day… you won’t be the only one.

When I started high school, I was so nervous, but everything ended up being ok. After the first day, the nervousness had dissapeared, and it took less than a week for me to feel totally comfortable in my new school.

On the first day, get to school 20 – 30 minutes before it begins (I know it sounds stupid, but trust me, it helps). First, find your locker and put all your things, except your first period books, in it (MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR SCHEDULE WITH YOU). And, remember where your locker is…that was my mistake; I found my locker but after my first period class, I couldn’t remember where it was, lol. Then, look for your homeroom classroom. If you have time, find the rest of your classrooms, and important places (bathrooms, office, library, etc). It will make your day alot easier!

And, most importantly, just remember that you’re not the only one who is starting high school for the first time. You’re not the only one who is nervous. And, don’t worry, the teachers will be easy on you new guys for the first couple of weeks (until you feel comfortable). If you get lost, don’t panic. If you’re late for a couple classes, don’t sweat it. It happens to everyone!

Have an awesome time…you’ll love high school! Good luck!

well most high school’s have an orientation night for new students. if your school doesn’t have that, then don’t worry. there are prolly 50 other kids in the same exact position as you. if you have your schedule, then just go to the first class they have listed on there. usually during the first week of school, there are more teachers in the hallways, so if you need help or get lost, just ask a teacher in the hallway. as for your locker, it might be near your homeroom. but at my high school, they assign lockers by your 7th period class.

good luck =]

Well, the first day I think you’ll find that many of the admins and the teachers will be more than willing to help you find your way. I know at my school, I got lost a good 5 times or so per day in the first 2 days. So, they should help you out allot. Usually schools have maps available at the main office, So check there.

There will be teachers and counselors standing around just for that reason… to give directions and answer questions. Many times they are in the cafeteria, so try going there first. The day before school starts, go to the school and ask for a map of the building. That will help, too. There might even be one on line for your school.

Don’t worry about it, everyone else starting high school will be in the same boat. Seriously, just ask for help and everything will be fine. Just get to school early so you have time to try and find where everything is.
