There are a lot of community colleges that offer a program with local high schools. It makes it easier for high schoolers to be a part of dual enrollment (what you just described). I did this in high school. I contacted the college and had to apply and get in. Make sure you do this before the deadline which can be found online at the school you plan to attend or by calling them. Usually on the application you can indicate that you haven’t graduated high school. Some colleges call your high school to confirm this and they don’t need your transcript since they assume if you want to take this class you have the grades to do it. Other colleges require a transcript. Ask someone in the registration office if you aren’t sure. In my experience, while I didn’t have to send a transcript, I did have to see a counselor and show them my AP scores qualified me to take the class I wanted. Because of the program between the high school and the community college, they had a special orientation for us and that helped. Talk to your guidance counselor or a teacher you have had who teaches the same subject you want to study in this class. They should be able to steer you in the right direction. I haven’t seen a lot of schools have something on their webpage for dual enrollment but if you call them or email someone in registration then they can usually tell you about it.

I found my upper level courses a lot easier but it was probably because they were more focused, actually what I wanted to study, and I had developed good study habits by then. The core undergraduate courses are really tough as they’re full of information for ALL streams that use those core courses. Just personally, I think the most difficult undergrad curriculums are in Engineering, Law, Medicine (vet or human) or History….but this is just me. I’m a geneticist and found the maths and genetics undergrad courses really easy. Honestly don’t know much about the arts / history departments so I can’t contribute to difficulty levels there.

I’m a sophmore and I took a college Spanish class over the summer at a local community college. I met another high school student who was taking two colege classes~ one online. Basically you can take any class as long as you meet the prerequisite for that class or you successfully “challenge” that class. Since I was an underclassmen then I also had to submit a recommendation letter.
Not all junior colleges will allow high school students to take classes there.
~First find the nearest junior colleges.
~Then find out (from their college catalog, admissions office, etc) if they allow high school students to take classes there.

You should talk to your school counselor. It is definitely possible, and will more than likely require you to apply and register at the college where you wish to take classes. There might also be a form your school will need you to complete if you are trying to get high school credit for the college courses you take. Your best bet, however, is your counselor.

Next year try to get into A.P classes they take a test at the end of the year which gives you college credits, I’m starting my freshman year with 22 credits. Try to look into a junior college, they will have courses you can take and it will also start you off higher when you do go to college.

at my school we have IB classes. they are similar to AP classes and you get college credits while still in high school. it might not be too late to contact your guidance counselor and ask for some advice.
