yes for many people do not have etiquette any more and yes my family and i included.

No way! Home econonmics actually teaches you somehing that you don’t really learn in other classes. Would you learn how to bake a cake in etiquette classes? I don’t think so. You learn etiquette almost everywhere. You learn manners and stuff like that when you are everywhere basically! Shouting out isn’t good manners. You learn that in regular class. Don’t chew with your mouth full. You learn that at home when you are eating (i hope you do). You wouldn’t learn how to cook in regular classes would you? This is why home economics is WAY better to keep as a class than etiquette.

Home ec is important because parents no longer seem to find the time to teach their kids how to cook or do anything else around the home. I also think etiquette is important because good manners seem to be disappearing. I think a happy medium is to combine the two. Teach the kids how to cook a meal then teach them how to eat it using good table manners. Unfortunately most parents don’t seem to be teaching enough of either at home these days.

No, I don’t think they should replace Home Ec. I do however think they should be included in that class’ curriculum. Both are necessary life skills that are no longer being taught in the home as much as they should be in this age of convenience.

Etiquette begins at home, practice makes perfection, no matter how much you train in classrooms, unless a skill is not practiced, it is of no use.

NO i had to take an etiquette class in school and i have almost never had to use it again atleast you use what u learn in home econmoics almost every day!
