high school personality?

Do you think kids that are in high school are actually mature enough to be called adults? I am a junior, and I think that, though all my friends don’t agree, that sometimes we’re not as mature as people say. Opinions?

Looking back at HS years, I would say that you guys aren’t adults. If you had to be responsible and do all the things adults were responsible for, I don’t think you would be able to handle it.

You are young adults. There are probably some of you who are more mature than some chronological adults. But I am sure many your age are still immature and lack the life experience only time can give.

Nevertheless, some of you are old enough to drive, and some are old enough to vote and go to war and some are old enough to go to Death Row if they commit a murder.

Being a teenager is one of the great transition times in the human life. You sound like you are dealing with it very well.

I believe everyone is considered an adult at age 18 because by this age, one should have the knowledge and resposiblity to live on their own. But remember, not everyone grows up well. I think some high school students are mature enough to be considered to be adults, but not all.

People generally differ in maturity depending on how they were raised and the responsibilities set upon them throughout their life. Age is not necessarily a factor in how mature someone is. I know 12 year olds who are more mature than 40 year olds and vice-versa. Generally when people are hanging out with their friends they are going to act less mature and more giddy, hopefully though as a high school Junior you are able to recognize when it is appropriate to act in a mature manner and when it is OK for you to relax and simply have fun with your friends.

im going into my senior yr in h.s. and i think that this age or “phase” as they call it is a spot in people’s lives where some people are matured physically, mentally, or socially some people are in the transition and others arent even close, which is what makes it so hard to determine

for example: freshman yr i watched southpark all day and did my hw at 11 everynight, now i watch the history channel and dont procrastinate in my hw…a casestudy you could call it

indeterminable but i would say we are not yet adults

hard to tell b/c we can drive, prepare for college, have jobs, but yet cant drink smoke and make major decisions for ourselves

a tough age indeed

the majority of kids in high school arent even legally adults yet (18 yrs old). The brain doesnt finish developing until the age of 25. kids in high school arent quite to that stage yet

When I was in high school I thought some were, and some weren’t. Now that I’m an adult I realize very few are, and even a majority of college students aren’t.

im a senoir and look around and see some people like myself and my friends are pretty mature for our age, but then others are sooo immature yo’u wonder if they are the same age…it really depends on teh individual you cannot classify highschool students as adults or children because some are one some are the other

well thats because were not…wile in high school or just being a teen you still have the need to let out some child hoodness and just be crazy or have a lil fun… your not really an adult till you are in your 20’s and are realizing that you have to be in the real world all on your own and get a job… but in another aspect people are allways a kid at heart…no one ever really truly “grows up”….Hope this was helpfull….
