Freshman questions?

My sister is going to be a freshman and asked me questions, but I really don’t remember well enough to help her.

1. What do freshman usually do on the first day? Go straight to their first class or is there something else they do first?

2. Will freshman get in trouble for being late to classes their first week?

3. Is homeroom usually first, in the middle of the day, or last?

1. Freshman usually have some type of orientation they go to the first day. They get to know their school leaders and some of their teachers. They will probably go to each of their classes for about 15 minutes each. They start the day out though probably in the gym for an assembly type thing.

2. No, the first week it’s fine if they’re late. Teachers understand that they don’t know where everything is.

3. I’m not sure about homeroom. Our school doesn’t have those.

1. Usually there is a “freshmen orientation day” or at least there is here, freshmens go back 1 day earlier than the upperclassmen, and they explain everything there.

2. No, they won’t get in trouble im sure, even the first month!!! Teachers know its hard for kids to start a new school.

3. I would ask, we only have it 2 days a week at my school, after first period, but im sure not every school is the same.

Hope I helped!! Wish her luck for me!!! 😀

1) I don’t knwo, since I’m a freshman myself, but I know SOME periods might be shorter, since we get our locker combo’s during homeroom, & homeroom’s only 4 minutes XD (that means it’ll cut into Civ, and I have an insane teacher in there)

2) Probably, but they give you plenty of time (I have 6 minutes between classes, but there are 10 buildings :\)

3) Our homeroom is between 1st & 2nd, so it “encourages” kids to come in on time, so they won’t be late to 1st period.

1: this changes dstrict to district.

2: first week they wont be pleased, but first two maybe three days is fine depending on size of school. try and see if you can get into the school before hand, get a map, and find a route oull take until you know the building beter.

3: This can be totaly random. in 6th grade my omeroom was a teacher i didnt even have for a class.

well during the first day of classes, freshmen introduce theirselves in class. the teacher orient them in the subjects they’re going to take up.he/she should learn to mingle with her new classmates and should be good to them. he/she should also avoid being late in the class because it is not proper.he/she may miss some of their activities.the schedule of homeroom will depend upon their adviser.
