do all states in the U.S have an exam that students must passed first to graduate high school?

Do you think its a good or bad idea to have exams like the CAHSEE.

I think its a bad idea to have a certain test to pass high school. In Florida they have something called the Fcat. If you don’t pass it you don’t get a high school diploma. Teachers spend all their time teaching about this test and don’t teach what they need to teach. Most of these tests started to measure how students perform and help improve. Now, its mandatory to past it. I went to private school before I had to go to public. I learned a lot more in private school than in public because they didn’t have that exam. They just had the SATs in which they didn’t teach since its not mandatory to past. When I went to a public school for 9th grade and had only regular classes it was horrible. The kids are there just to talk to their friends or to skip and go to beach. They could care less about their grades. They don’t even no how to read correctly. In order to learn anything you have to be in a Ap course that barely covers the Fcat.

No, not all states have such exams. I took the CAHSEE, which was a complete waste of time. Sure, it is supposed to make sure that students who graduate are equipped. But the things the exam tests are ridiculously simple at a high school level.

The exit exams no doubt lead to higher drop-out or non-graduating rates, resulting in more people without high school diplomas. It is a known statistic that workers without high school diplomas earn significantly less than those who do. Exit exams are expensive to administer, waste time, and do not meet the goal of providing quality education to children.

I don’t know that all states do but Utah does. I was lucky enough to graduate before they implemented the test. I don’t know that it’s a good idea what we really need to help the children in our school system is just a better education system. Here in the U.S it’s not very important to our government you can tell that by how much money they are giving the school system. Many of the other countries have school systems that far exceeds ours i think we could learn a lot from them.

I know that in Minnesota we have the Basic Standards Tests (BST). You generally take the reading and math in eighth grade and the writing in tenth. You need to pass them to graduate high school.

I think they should be required for a diploma because they evaluate the very basics of the years that you spent on your education. If you have been in school for 13 years, and haven’t retained enough information to pass a standardized test, maybe you don’t deserve a diploma.

HS pupils right here do not do A tiers or do in simple terms instructions in specific factors of analyze. they could do nicely in all factors. colleges choose nicely rounded pupils. And in colleges, all majors could take commonly used ed instructions. Gen. eds are in math, technological know-how, humanities and english. In HS, as quickly as all required instructions are met, pupils have a decision of their non-obligatory instructions. this might selection from severe college to severe college. To graduate or to bypass directly to college pupils could have taken 4 yrs of english 3 yrs of technological know-how with 2 of a labs/ biology and chemistry 3 yrs of math/ algebra a million&2 and geometry- taking calculus is a plus 2/3 yrs of an identical distant places language 2 yrs of background/ US and international. There at the instant are not any national checks pupils could take. that’s as much as each and every instructor. pupil who’re happening to college could take the ACT or SAT examination. Which covers an excellent array of subjects.
