One F in High School?
Hey Guys, Im a senior in High School and school starts in two weeks for me. I failed one semester of Geometry during my freshman year, and I’m thinking about taking one semester of pre calc during my senior year . Will colleges still accept me with just one F in High School??? Ofcourse I’m not going to an Ivy League school, but to at least to some decent school. Please Help?

depends on the college, i know that some schools will select u even if u got 1 f, did u know their are some schools that will exept u not based on ur grades but personality and willingness to learn, if u are willing to learn then u will get exepted into a nice college

No, I don’t think that one F in high school will kill your college application or anything. There are online math courses that you can take during the summer (or maybe during school) and get credit for–if you clear it with your high school. Try talking to your guidance counselor and explain why you got the F and how you are working to learn from your weaknesses. Hee/she might be willing to talk about the F in their reference to the college and present a positive view on it.
Good luck! I’m a senior too and I’ve definitely gotten at least one or two less-than-stellar grades.
Colleges will see the “F” on your transcript but they’ll be more interested on how you took actions to improve yourself as a student.

You should be fine, one thing I learned when filling out college apps. was put undecided for your major, you have a better chance getting in. Once you are accepted then pick a major. College’s have only a certain amount of spots per major so they might not take you if a lot of people signed up for the same thing. It was a little trick that I learned.

Yes, a college will accept you with an F on your record. They mainly look at your ACT or SAT scores.

Sure they will accept you. Hopefully your major is not going to be in math, though. Don’t stress too much on that, focus on finishing the last year well.
