Any tips for being the new kid?

I’m starting high school in a few weeks, but it’s a different high school than the one that everyone from my middle school is going to, so I’m going to be the “new kid”. Any advice?

Whatever you do be yourself, trying to adjust to fit in or worrying about it too much is just going to be frustrating and it will be seen for what it is. Kids are cruel and everyone is insecure so don’t let anything get to you. There is a group of people that you will be comfortable with and have a great time with as long as you don’t try too hard to press yourself on anyone. If you start with people in your classes that seem interesting or extra curricular activities that you enjoy then those people will probably develop into good friendships. Whatever you do do not get discouraged if the first couple of weeks it’s hard to connect, everyone else is nervous too.

A tip from me, based on experience

well, entering highschool and adapting to it, i thought back then, would gonna be a very hard thing to do. But based on my experience, it was not. The best advice that i can give you, be yourself. It may sound cliche, but that’s really true.

Be yourself and show others what you are made of. If at start you would pretend someone you are not, hell i tell you, it would be difficult to play that part for the rest of yer highschool life, and you might miss a lot of things and regret in the end. know what i mean?

That’s that, goodluck and have faith that its gonna be alright! HAVE FUN!!! =)

If you were a male, I’d say try to fly under the radar, keep a low profile, and avoid eye contact with upper class men. We used to stuff freshmen boys into toilets, trashcans, lockers what ever small and humiliating receptacle was nearby.

As a female you won’t have much trouble. Just be yourself. Try to have some sympathy for your fellow freshmen males. Don’t laugh when you pass a trashcan and see a pair of legs sticking out.

Best of luck, study hard.

Advice…, well. Remember the moment you walk in to class that day and capture it in your minds eye. And know in your heart that all of us, each person you see from that moment forward in life that at one point or another, all of us was the new kid.

just be yourself, be friendly…try to avoid the temptation to say “at my old school we did this…..” whenever i go somewhere new, i try to smile at everyone i meet (without looking like a psycho) and sit back and get a feel for who’s who. pay attention and get in with kids who share your interests……hopefully they will just find you…..you will be fine 🙂

Girls don’t have to worry about a new school. If you look good, friends will come to you. If you’re not so good-looking, be the funny girl & always be in a good mood. also, it never hurts to join a sports team.
