Need ideas for games for kindergarten Halloween party…?

I am organizing the Halloween classroom party for my daughter’s kindergarten class. We will have approximately a half hour to fill. Any ideas for games? These kids will be full of sugar and energy and probably will have a short attention span at this point, so I don’t want anything complicated that I will have to explain over and over again.

Consider having centers set up– as you would during the regular day. (Amount of centers would be based on amount of children and how many children could be accommodated at each center)

You would need to have a couple parent volunteers to help man the centers; Kids would just rotate through the centers.

Most important to remember with parties is:

1. At each center or activity- Give clear directions-one at a time.

2. When giving parties, radiate calmness. Let the children get caught up in your peace, instead of you in their turmoil.

3. Be enthusiastic! Themes and parties won’t “take off” if the adults aren’t having fun and joining in the spirit of the day. Yes, wear costumes too!

4. Make sure each one receives something. The competition will be healthier when the focus is on “fun” and each child knows there is a prize waiting for him, regardless of the event outcome.

Some ideas for centers and/or activities:

1. Pin the Nose on the Pumpkin (like pin the tail on the donkey)

Kids make GIANT pumpkin with staff member

Students make large carrot – shaped noses

After play, each child gets a prize (can be candy, sticker or ?)

2. Each child frost and decorate a Fall/Halloween Shaped Cookie

3 Face painting (on the face or hand)

4. Apple bobbing

5. Paint a still life picture (Arrange pumpkin (s) with leaves etc.

6. Play Here We Go Round the Pumpkin Patch (done like here we go round the Mulberry Bush

7. Game: Pumpkin Face balloon bop (Draw pumpkin faces on balloons before game)

Need several pre-blown balloons.

Players may stand or sit. Each team is given a balloon to keep in the air for as long as possible. They can only bat or tap the balloon to keep it afloat—no throwing or catching is allowed.

Each time the balloon hits the ground- a point is scored AGAINST that team. (If playing with older kids—Some one needs to keep score—and the team with the lowest score is the winner. Just keeping the balloon up is enough with a kindergartner)

8. A story corner with Interactive Halloween story book read/told.

9. Game: Balancing Act

Place an apple on each child’s head (or something of Halloween theme)

Play music as each child walks around balancing the object on their head. If the object falls off the child is frozen until another comes and places the object back on the head. Everyone stops and resets their object when the music stops. Game starts over when the music again starts.

10. The limbo with music is always fun!

11. An easy halloween craft–a zillion of them on the web!

At your food table have cheese, crackers, veggies and dip beside sweets. If the childen decorate their own cookie–that is desert.

I’m planning the Halloween party for my son’s Kindergarten class. Our school is pretty strict in observing the healthy food guidelines set by the state. Our party has to be after lunch and the kids are allowed only 1 “unhealthy” snack. There can be plenty of healthy snacks (fruit, veg).

I’m doing 4 centers, hopefully each manned by a parent.

1) Bean bag toss – cardboard box with 3 pumpkins painted on it. The mouths will be cut out to throw the bean bags into.

2) Necklace making – The kids are very into making patterns, so they’ll get to line up beads in a pattern of their choice and put the beads onto a ribbon to make a necklace.

3) Oreo spiders – Have the kids twist an Oreo apart, then lay 4 long pieces of black licorice across the cream filling to make 8 legs. Add a glob of frosting to reattach the top piece of Oreo. Use tube frosting to put 8 dots on top, then put a Red Hot candy on each frosting dot to make eyes. You can put these in little containers for them to take home.

4) Halloween craft – either Lollipop Ghosts or Paper Plate Pumpkins with stick on foam shapes for features.

I’m getting cello loot bags for their treats and asking parents to bring in a small amount of candy. A parent will be assembling the treat bags while the kids are doing the centers.

This is my first party as Room Mom, so I’m hoping the kids will have a good time.

Consider talking to the teachers & other parents about easing back on the sugar and junk food. Then you can treat the children a little more normally.

Enlist adult help. Dressed-up parents and staff members can listen to secrets, tell fortunes, guess identities… Children very much enjoy games that involve personalized grown-up attention, and kindergarteners enjoy everything more when there’s not the stress of racing.

Lose the candy.

One more resource for you. I just did a blog on Kindergarten party games and had a resource for games that are especially good at school. Check it out.

If you intend to learn how to draw the right image all you want is time and Realistic Pencil Portrait Mastery guide from here https://tr.im/W6kEB to be in the proper path.

The lessons from Realistic Pencil Portrait Mastery guide include 208 pages and an overall total of 605 illustrations.  The basic strategy applied is that you start with a photo, draw a light outline of the function, and then shade it in.

Realistic Pencil Portrait Mastery is the right allied to help make the great draw.
