a.) For examples:

n=0: A(0) = 6 +0(-3) = 6 + 0 = 6

n=1: A(1) = 6 +1(-3) = 6 – 3 = 3

n=2: A(2) = 6 +2(-3) = 6 – 6 = 0

n=3: A(3) = 6 +3(-3) = 6 – 9 = -3

a)

Explanation :

Number 6 = where the sequence starts and every next number decreases by 3 so +(n)(-3)

so a) 6+(n)(-3) is the correct answer

Depends on whether you consider the sequence to start with 0 or 1. Let’s suppose it starts with 1. If we plug that in for n, we get:

a) A(1) = 3

b) A(1) = 6

c) A(1) = 3

d) A(1) = -3

So which one gives you the right first term?

a) satisfies — first term is 6, and each successive value is 3 less than the prior
