Objectivity- The same thing a reporter needs to not be biased. To be able to extract both sides of the story WITHOUT taking sides or showing any partiality to one side. You must be able to point out who was right and who was wrong without making one seem BETTER than the other…ya feel me? Also, you need to be able to take some stuff to the grave with you…in other words, be able to keep everything to yourself WITHOUT ever discussing any of the cases you mediate or the people involved in them with any of your friends, etc. that would be mastering the “art” shall we say, of Confidentiality. Be FAIR and NEUTRAL and keep it all to yourself. Good Luck!

you need to be able to handle situations calmly and control your actions…. the people your mediating probably don’t get along together and it’s your job to help them talk it out w/o becoming violent or rude…
