MLA (Modern Language Association) format/style is one of the most commonly use styles too write papers and cite sources.

Here are some general guidelines for a MLA format:

– Type your paper on a computer and print it out on standard, white 8.5 x 11-inch paper

– Double-space the text of your paper, and use a legible font like Times New Roman or Courier

– Leave only one space after periods or other punctuation marks (unless otherwise instructed by your instructor).

– Set the margins of your document to 1 inch on all sides. Indent the first line of a paragraph one half-inch (five spaces or press tab once) from the left margin.

– Create a header that numbers all pages consecutively in the upper right-hand corner, one-half inch from the top and flush with the right margin. (Note: Your instructor may ask that you omit the number on your first page. Always follow your instructor’s guidelines.)

– Use either italics or underlining throughout your essay for the titles of longer works and, only when absolutely necessary, providing emphasis.

– If you have any endnotes, include them on a separate page before your Works Cited page.

I highly recommend you to visit this website. It has lots of information about MLA format. It shows you the basic layout to the citing rules and lots of examples.

This is the official MLA website. Although it doesn’t provide the details style information, it does give you great background information about MLA.

If you are going to write more papers in MLA format I would suggest you to purchase the “MLA Handbook for Writers of Research Papers (6th edition)” You can get it online or offline in your local bookstore for around $17.50:

Amazon http://www.amazon.com/Handbook-Writers-Research-Papers-Sixth/dp/0873529863

I hope this helps. 🙂 good luck in your writing.

Very basic info is available at the MLA site:

The format covers everything you mentioned, but is most concerned with citation format in text and in a Works Cited page at the end of the paper. The MLA site will give you some basics, but your best bet is to buy or borrow a handbook. Most high school and college-level handbooks used in writing courses cover MLA format as well as APA.

I believe mla style is just the way you do your in paper and end citations of others work you used. You could probably verify this at your library or if your school/library has a web site it might be on there as well.

an astonishing answer from ‘rraj’ a real Atheist is extra useful than a real theist in watching Humanity. yet Karuna failed miserably in watching Humanity fairly while Srilankan conflict crime replaced into on. He basically made a drama of four hours Fasting and ended it as though all the topics have been resolved.
