Also, have some healthy snacks at an arm’s length – both the movement with your hands/mouth and the steady blood sugar will help you.
For subjects you truly can’t focus in, or you really have trouble with, set yourself small sub-goals – get three question done and close the book. Come back after your next subject and complete three more, etc.
Feel free to get up and move around while you’re reading, this can also occupy part of your brain and stimulate learning centers in your brain. I allow my son to do this, and even though it drives me nuts to watch him ๐ it helps his concentration A LOT.
If it’s a lit assignment that you can get the audiobook for (the library should have most well-known books on audio), get it and read along with it. For many people, both hearing and seeing something will help them focus.
Hope that helps!

Tell yourself you are going to study for about 10mins. Set the timer and go. Stop when the timer rings.
Because you have a limited specific time you “hurry” to get done, this will keep you focused. You will be amazed at how much you can accomplish in 10-15 mins.
I timer trained my kids and this is how we clean the house. It works great.
