Usually they want you to have a co-signer. With a co-signer you can get much lower interest rates. If you have to do it alone, I would go to www.wachovia.com and check out what they have to offer. I took a loan out from there without a co-signer and still got a pretty decent interest rate. Also, check and see if you qualify to take out the federal student loans that you should be given through fafsa. These are usually in your name only and do not require a co-signer.

As long as you list that you are currently employed (when you get your job), you shouldn’t have much of a problem getting a student loan without a co-signer. You will have to submit proof that you work there, like a pay-stub from your last check.

Goodluck!

Usually with a federal loan you shouldn’t need one but you might with a private loan. A loan officer would be able to tell you for sure. I would apply for a federal loan first but make sure you check with the college about deadlines and how they divide up your award. Some schools like mine divided up my award and spread the money out into three semesters and then I received the difference. So I was kinda forced to get a private loan because of how they divided the money. Good Luck.

P.S. I live right outside Hartford (Literally like a 2 minute walk)

No one to co-sign?

Are your parents deceased?

I think if you have no one to co-sign, it WILL be harder for you to find a loan, but it definitely won’t be impossible.
