next year I’m going into high school and my mom said that financial aid is like student loan.Is this true?

No, student loan is like you borrow money from someone, which you need to pay back, probably with interest. Financial aid, on the other hand, is an aid for your education, which you do not need to pay back.

financial and and student loans both have to be paid back, with financial aid you have 5-10 years after graduation to pay it back, student loans you’re given a certian amount of time depends on the amt. and who you get it though. Depending on your household income you can get grants, which you dont pay back, check out the pell grant, it might help.
