What’s a scene?

When people say “It’s my scene.” What do they mean? Or when someone tell you that you’re scene or you’re a scene, what does it mean?

When people say “It’s my scene”, they are expressing that they feel comfortable in a place of hang-out, type of situation, or when around other people of a certain type. For instance, my artist friend’s scene might be at a hipster cafe where he can wear skinny jeans and a beret and say vague, philosophical things. My flirty friend’s scene might be at a loud club where she can dance and get the attention she wants. Another way of saying “that’s my scene” might be “that is where I am in my element”, or “that is where I most enjoy going.”

If someone tells you that you are “scene”, they are calling you a “scene kid”, which is a stereotype of a specific kind of person who dresses a certain way in order to impress others. Usually this person has dark hair worn in his/her eyes, wears excessive eyeliner, takes pictures in front of mirrors, and listens to bands like My Chemical Romance, even if there is no actual liking for the band involved. This group is similar to “emo”, except they tend to be less suicidal and more extraverted.

I think you may be referring to someone saying something like “I’m really into the bar scene” That would mean that they like going to bars in general, as opposed to one in particular. It is a generalization about an image or a type of crowd that a person likes to be associated with. Perhaps you like the Goth “scene” or the Emo “scene,” it really depends on what kind of interests you have.

Hmm… As for the courting detail, I discover emo/scene men to be particularly sizzling. But it is not like should you are not emo/scene I may not hang around with you. My pleasant buddy is not emo. In reality plenty of my peers are not 🙂 If there are honestly men and women in the market who may not be peers with any one simply on account that they don’t seem to be such as you, than they’re simply idiots lol.
