when we say “courtesy”, you are acknowledging to telling people that this is from someone, I mean if you really want to help someone, you don’t to tell them that it’s from me, for example you donated chair to a church, then you said that include my names on that furniture so that others can see that it’s from me. It clearly shows that your real intentions was not to help but to advertise your name as a good person. Another good examples are politician, you see something like “this thing is a project of mayor joe”, just to acknowledge that they’ve done something. If you really want to help, it doesn’t matter if people knows that you did something good. GOD knows what you really did, which I think what’s matters most…. ^_^

I’m sorry, I’ve never heard of that. Even looked it up online and nothing. Are you sure that’s the correct phrase? Or is it supposed to be within the context of a paragraph?
