What is a synonym for ‘rich’ when describing a non-chocolate dessert?

I made some very good meringues and a friend was commenting on them- explaining that he couldn’t eat another because they were too “rich.” We then realized that “rich” wasn’t the correct word. The dessert was excessively sweet, but not rich (as one might think of a chocolate, syrupy, or mocha type confection). What would an appropriate, positive, designation be?

i don’t personally think of rich as a chocolate only term, one thing that comes to my mind first is cheese cake. not the fluffy, whipped kind but the ones that are real heavy and as stated above, decadent. also now that i think about it there is this mexican stuff called ‘mole’

(prenounced mow-lay) its like a reddish, thick gravy for chicken or other meat and IT is rich as hell! but if you want MY honest opinion then you’ll have to send me a few dozen to sample =P lol
