What does the word Prejudiced mean?

New intern? But you cant- I mean- I didnt mean to , the nurse stuttered, trying to apologize without sounding prejudiced

Having irrational hostile attitudes, fears or hatred towards a particular group, race or religion.

Or having a preconcieved opinion or feeling whether positive or negative.

Damage caused by the above – as in – His remarks prejudiced the jury.

Prejudice is, as the name implies, the process of “pre-judging” something. In general, it implies coming to a judgment on the subject before learning where the preponderance of the evidence actually lies, or formation of a judgement without direct or actual experience. Holding a politically unpopular view is not in itself prejudice, and not all politically popular views are free of prejudice

– Assuming a rich man cannot be nice simply because he’s rich.

– Assuming an intern is an idiot because he is not really comfortable with being a doctor… or snobby, because he thinks he’s better than a nurse…
