tell me is which sentence is correct ” walking IN the rain” or “walk UNDER the rain”?

because someone is trying too hard to be a smarty pants with me

one walks in the rain….not under a rain…rain is not an object which is above you

I would say that as the rain not only falls on top of you but also simultaneously surrounds you on all sides the sentence should be,

” Walking WITHIN the rain”.

You walk “in the rain.” You can’t walk “under…”it as it is falling on you and about you.

Definately ‘walking in the rain’. After all, it is falling down all around you, so you’re ‘in’ it and not just ‘under’ it.
