what is the point in having ESOL training?
I think it is pointless and stupid with a bunch of red tape. I am a education student and I am getting tired of all the crap!

Is that the same as ESL? Because most academics, all of them actually besides foreign language, are taught in English. It would be unfair to put a student into a class that was above their language comprehension level.

Are you training to be an ESL teacher specifically, or a teacher in another subject? Either way, you’re going to be teaching many students whose first language is not English. This brings a whole host of linguistic, emotional, psychological, and biological differences. Unwillingness to appreciate, understand, and address the challenges that ELLs face indicates that you’re not a good candidate to be a teacher.
