And for you that may not help so much now. But essentially the advice is that you should approach this opportunity with energy and an open mind.

I did go to BC and while it has been said that the students looks fairly similar.. my experience was that there were people from many walks of life, pursuing many walks of life. I learned so much for so many different types of people.

And yes of course, on the surface BC has a popular culture of drinking beers, studying fairly diligently, serving the community in light of jesuit values, attending sporting events, enjoying the city of boston, and for some… more drinking of beers.

All in all, most students are happy and the campus is really quite beautiful. It depends on what you want but my general advice for a broad experience would be to…

– join a volunteer organization

– participate in class, know your professors

– dont be afraid to drink a beer or two, or to not drink a beer or two

– buy season football tickets

– enjoy and get to know the people on your dorm floor
