What can I do as a junior in high school to prepare?
Favorite Answer
I do recommend, to high school students, that they take as many science and math courses as they can. Preferrably in Advance Placement classes.
I do not recommend that they do the same in college! In college, a student should take the prereq courses, but do a non-science major–unless that student is interested in doing medical research and then you’re usually talking about somebody who wants a PhD and then a MD.
Get going on your volunteer experience. It WILL impact your future decisions.
ps: Take the toughest Science and Math courses you can find in High School – especially Chemistry. Don’t waste time with “Medical Terminology” or similar technician-level courses.
